The animal prints include the Morepork Owl, Kakapo, Kiwi Bird and Pukeko. The Pukeko bird is known for its bold scheming and determination. In times past they raided gardens for kumara (sweet potato) and taro. Most eggs are laid between August and February with breeding reaching a peak in spring between September and December.
